When put up the early concept art for her new comic project, I found this character so oddly fascinating, that I was almost compelled to draw a little fanart.
As cool as the character is, the Imperial flag somehow managed to be equally fun to draw. I hope I did it justice though, it's awfully complicated...
Anyway, this ones for the suitably inspirational I hope you like it. ^_^
As always, advanced artistic critique is both very welcome and very appreciated, but this time please stay away from critiquing the character design itself because, a: this is fanart, so the character design wasn't origionally done by me anyway and b: because this character is so cool, there's nothing to actually crit about her anyway. ^_^ Everything else is fair game though, so crit away people!
What an awesome surprise! I gushed in my note so I won't bore you here, but thank you! This was kickass to find in my inbox, especially on my birthday. ^^
I must say that I like the imperial flag design just as much as I like the character standing beside it. You must have taken a long time to get it just right. I really don't think I can give you the critique you desire: I can't find anything wrong with it, anything to improve. My only question is, "Is that a fur collar around her neck? I can't tell..."
Thankyou. ^_^ Yes, that's the official imperialist Russia flag. It was actually relativly easy though. I do a fair bit of historical artowrk anyway, so i'm used to copying something in perfect detail. ( Like drawing Prussian infantrymen, and having to get the exact number of buttons on their coats in just the right places. ) Once you've developed an eye for details though, the rest is fairly easy. It just takes a while...
And thankyou. Critique is great, but sometimes, everyone needs a pat on the back and a well done. ^_^
Yes, it's a fur collar. It's a different colour than the fur cuffs though, so I thought it would be best to put fewer lines on it so you could differentiate between the two. ( The more lines you put into hair/fur, the darker it looks ) Perhaps I overdid the application of that theory a bit?

I do indeed like both the art and the character design in this! No complaints or crits at all for this one ^^. Perhaps the only thing I suggest is that you color it at some point.

I don't know about the art, but the character is certainly awsomeness given form. ^_^
As for colouring it, that is somewhat unlikely. That said, since the prodominant colour would be white, I wouldn't actually have that much work to do...
