As always, advanced artistic critique ( Old fashioned comment critique anyway. I'm not to keen on the whole new critique feature personally... ) is both desired, and very welcome. ^_^
This was actually a remake of an earlier piece of artwork, but I put a lot more detail into the armour this time around, and I think it was largely a noticable improvement.
To be fair though, there arn't actually that many ways you can armour ears without interfearing with their primary function, that of hearing things. Sure, with modern technology you can just have the equivilent of armoured headphones incorporated into ones helmet, but a layer of iron plating over your ears could be considered counterproductive, at least by some people. ( such as this elf, apparently )
Thankyou very much. ^_^ I think that black and white art actually has a whole lot of unique charms. A black and white drawin can, when done right, have even more character than a coulour picture. I guess that's why I like drawing black and white art so much.
And I'm glad that you like the armour design. I'm still pretty pleased with it, even after all this time. ^_^
Oh yeah, I was just being an ass. I know ears shan't be covered — I once wore a fool's crest in Latin class (it was Mardi gras), and had trouble hearing everything, obliging me to raise the earpads at times.
Upon reflection, ( pun not intended... ) there is a lot about the shine and shading that I really think I could have done a lot better job of, but thankyou just the same. ^_^
Thankyou. I'm glad you like it. ^_^ If you don't mind me asking, what is it you like about it?
It's difficult to give an exact time, since I have a habbit of working on things in bits and peices over several days, but a good estimate would probably be about five hours.
I really do like her armor.
Awesome job with her weapons too, really awesome!

Just kidding, Brendan... Why, you know how to make things so alive with just two colors. I really love her armor.

Wow, that's a long time.
